          I began my artistry as a child, always drawing faces, starting with the eyes. Somehow the eyes were what made art for me, they drew me in and told me the story that was to unfold. I kept my love of art as I grew up, alway dabbling in this or that. All those years I was searching for something, and it was a while before my calling would come to me.
          I went to design school at UNCG and shortly after married my college sweetheart. Being a lover of math and art, I was desperate to find the perfect blend to make my life complete. With Interior Architecture I thought I would find that perfect combination, but for me there was only harsh lines and cold solid spaces. I was still looking for those eyes, that soulful song singing in the distance.
          Within a few years I had my first life-changing experience. All the things I had always been dreaming up suddenly fell into place as I held my daughter in my arms for the first time, and fell deep within the pools of her eyes. I never knew that soulful song was the singing of a lullaby, and the eyes... the spirit of a child. It finally made sense to me.
          Having some experience with photography from design school and some time spent in the dark room, I began my new search. This song was still calling to me, as it ever does now, to find the perfect moment, and I find myself still drawn to capture the eyes and spirit of a child.
          After years of design, and two years of photographing my own child, my second child was on the way. The second step in that journey of motherhood. This time, I held a son at that crowning moment and again my life took another step towards completion. Within 6 months of having my son, I began to take my life experiences: Art, design, photographing, joy, and motherhood... and combine them into one complete passion, Andrea Halsey Photography.
          When I photograph your child and your family, I will bring all of that experience with me. There is so much more than just a camera and some skill... it is a lifetime of exerpiences that you and I both share, to bring us to a beautiful and artful moment. Together, we will cherish it forever.

          Andrea Halsey is an award-winning photographer serving the Triad and surrounding areas. She is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and constantly strives to help other photographers as they grow their skill and business. She is passionate about supporting women photographers, and especially those who are mothers and juggle the dual life of mother and business owner.
          She holds a leadership position with the National Association of Professional Children�s Photographers that currently has a membership list of some of the best children�s photographers in the country.
          In just two short years she has built the first Boutique photography studio in Greensboro, offering her artful photos and design expertise to create a final and beautiful product for clients� homes.

Andrea Halsey Photography originated in 2007 by Andrea Halsey under the name Ambient Light Photography Studio which soon became Andrea Halsey Photography by 2008.
